“Hanging on to Mr Trumps latest words is NOT the special relationship” - Starmer. Spot on.

She’s dreadful. Just lately I felt she’d been pretty good and had Starmer on the ropes. Today she just looks petty and point scoring in a time of national seriousness.

General Kemi doesn’t care she wants WAR! #pmqs

Badenoch's tone feels a bit misjudged for the situation. A bit partisan given there are huge numbers of Britons caught in a war zone. After Starmer sets out the latest evacuation plans, Badenoch says he has not answered her question.

Got to say, this is both an unedifying and an unimpressive performance from Kemi Badenoch at PMQs today. She's trying to pressure on Iran but it feels like she's entirely ignoring the answers to stick to a bizarre script. And giving Starmer free hits in the process.

I don’t think it will last that long. Maybe a few weeks. No troops on the ground. They’ll kill a lot, destroy a lot then claim they’ve won despite there being no evidence for it. But the right wing media will rally around and also claim a victory for Trump and Starmer was wrong.

US strikes on Iran ‘outside international law,’ says Macron Macron joins Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez in calling the legality of the strikes into question.

After four days of hesitating, the president of France has joined the prime minister of Spain in saying that the 🇺🇸🇮🇱 attack on Iran is a violation of international law.

But they are still the only 2 EU leaders to have done so. Will others join?

Reminds me of the pandemic when everyone thought Boris had some amazing plan and were surprised when it turned out that “pile the bodies high” was part of it.

Given that more Brits oppose strikes on Iran than support them, it is possible that Trump is in fact helping Keir Starmer’s standing with the public.

The more Starmer resists Trump’s demands, the more principled he appears, in line with British views on the war.

We’re all focussing on the Winston Churchill bit and forgetting the bit where he said he didn’t need to ask permission to use bases they’d just fly in and use them. Who’s going to stop them? The guy is completely deranged.

I would hope people around him would stop him. But I’m not 100% sure. He’s on borrowed time so has little to lose.

Let’s just team up with Spain. They’ve got all we need - olives, tapas and sunny holidays. Leave the rest of them to it.

A bit rich from Trump to name check Winston Churchill considering the United States spent the most of the 1940s navel gazing while Britain held the fort. #GiantOrangeManBaby

Yeah but Trump is quite stupid. He won’t think that far

And he doesn’t like us in the uk anymore. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Trump “I’m not happy with the U.K. it’s not Winston Churchill we’re dealing with” no and we weren’t dealing with a world war - until you stepped in to start one.

Am I being added to lists and such like? I’m not seeing anything most probably because I’ve blocked and muted a lot.

Donald Trump has criticised Keir Starmer again over the UK’s refusal to back offensive strikes on Iran saying the “relationship is obviously not what it was”.

But is the UK public with US president? In short: no. New YouGov polling shows that by 49% to 28%, Brits oppose the US strikes on Iran...

Well moving to Dubai seems to avoid one of those things - but makes the other more likely 😬

This is a prime example of why Labour can’t win. The right think Mahmood should be in charge. The left think a Polanski figure - possibly Rayner. Starmer is far too in the middle and boring for most. People thrive on division.

03.03.2026 10:39 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Problem is Everytime Starmer does something which on paper should be popular - ID cards a prime example they had a lot of support until Starmer announced it. Mainly because the media are too powerful and jump all over whatever he does.

03.03.2026 10:36 — 👍 3    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Eh? It was you who said Labour should do what the Tories did. They put Boris Johnson in charge. 🤷🏼‍♀️

03.03.2026 09:59 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

Put a populist leader in charge and move further right?

03.03.2026 09:48 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

The media are now rallying around the “Starmer is just trying to appeal to Muslims” as evidenced over on X. Soon Starmer will be painted as anti-British because he refused to put our troops into an illegal and poorly planned war.

Possibly. But I suspect as Reforms and Greens policies are broadcast more people will become more squeamish.
