America First ended up just meaning Trump First.
When will Congressional Republicans finally stop this madness?

Senator representing Virginia's 16th District. Parent of three pretty cool kids, teacher of the Constitution, Democrat, and #Henrico homer.
America First ended up just meaning Trump First.
When will Congressional Republicans finally stop this madness?
This is disappointing.
08.12.2025 23:48 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve heard from Virginians across the Commonwealth who struggle with the high cost of living β from skyrocketing energy bills to rising housing costs.
My administration is ready to hit the ground running on Day One to begin building a more affordable Virginia.
The kids are all right.
And excited for another year of @civiceducation.bsky.social's We the People program!
Disgusting. And a total betrayal of American ideals.
08.12.2025 13:58 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0It might be easy to find things like this merely petty or superficial, but that would be a mistake. Demeaning, erasing or eliminating celebrations or acknowledgments of Black America is straight from Redemption playbook, and is intended to reinforce the racial hierarchy and signal its reinstatement.

"Sad to see MAGA cranks are still pushing conspiracy theories and less secure elections. Meanwhile back in the real world, ERIC leads to better list maintenance. Also crazy to suggest that sending a voter application form only benefits one party. Someone needs to touch grass." VA Sen. Schuyler VanValkenburg
VA Sen. @scvanvalkenburg.bsky.social is 100% correct about the "MAGA cranks" (e.g., Tim Anderson), and fortunately, they won't be in charge in Virginia as of January. Very UNfortunately, they're in charge in Washington, DC. bluevirginia.us/2025/12/frid...

05.12.2025 13:44 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you to the Virginia Association of Housing & Community Development Officials for having me speak as their keynote at their fall conference yesterday evening.
We have to prioritize attainable housing. Itβs key to Virginia's remaining a good place for families, young people, workers & business.
Deeply disturbing.

The VACC does such important work for Henrico and Virginiaβs Asian businesses and in promoting small business!
Thank you for the recognition!
Honored to be the new chair of the Virginia Senateβs Rehabilitation and Social Services Committee.
I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work!
Virginia couldnβt ask for a better U.S. Senator than @markwarnerva.bsky.social!
Throughout his career heβs always been in the mix; solving problems, working with both sides of the aisle, standing up for our state, and prioritizing economic wellbeing.
Letβs send him back to the Senate!

If this is a sign of things to come (and I think it is), Virginia is going to be in great hands for the next four years.
People shouldnβt have to leave Virginia to afford the rent or the mortgage. Yet, thatβs whatβs happening.
Housing supply must be a priority if we want working families, young people, and businesses to set strong roots in Virginia.
Thank you, Virginia Senators, for your strong support! From fighting for affordable health care to broadband, letβs continue standing up for Virginiansβ needs in every corner of the Commonwealth. Onwards!

This is exactly why we needed a new AG. Thank you to @jonesjay.bsky.social for looking out for Virginians.

Wins all the way around.
And we should prioritize grid enhancing technologies. Because the energy that is cheapest is the energy that already built out.

29.11.2025 17:47 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I think less people having access to affordable health care is worse than the federal government implementing the ACA.
I donβt think people should be denied insurance because of pre-existing conditions.
I donβt think people should be priced out of going to the doctor.
A huge shout out to the Henrico Police Department for all of the work they do in our community.
From Chief English to the folks on patrol we have a fantastic force and these statistics highlight the great work they do every day.
Finally, the Racing Commissionβs reading of the law is actually insane (overly corporate friendly).
Henrico citizens are many great things but, alas, clairvoyant predictors of the future are not among our many talents.
Any common sense reading of the law leads to a referendum.

Third, there's been a pattern of statewide Republican officeholders telling Henrico County to go pound sand.
That they donβt get a voice in the case of Virginia Governor Youngkin's veto or that we donβt even get a response from our elected official in the case of Virginia AG Jason Miyares.
