Tal Farlow - Topic Talmage Holt Farlow was an American jazz guitarist. He was nicknamed "Octopus" because of how his large, quick hands spread over the fretboard.

A Guide to the Wild Expanse of Cosmic American Music Far beyond even Gram Parsons’s imagination, these artists reinvigorate American roots music.

A Guide to the Wild Expanse of Cosmic American Music
(Robert Rubsam - Bandcamp)

Gram Parsons is generally credited with the invention of “Cosmic American Music”—blues, country, and rock all rolled into one sparkling package.

To be able to use one’s time as one wants is a luxury many don’t have.

i remember the feeling of saving money for a CD and buying it at newbury comics and then listening to it and not really getting it and then listening to it again until i finally got it and played it on repeat and it saddens me that ours is the last generation to experience this kind of thing

“For me, the most ironic token of [the first human moon landing] is the plaque signed by President Richard M. Nixon that Apollo 11 took to the moon.

It reads: 'We came in peace for all Mankind.' As the United States was dropping 7 ½ megatons of conventional explosives on small nations in Southeast Asia, we congratulated ourselves on our humanity. We would harm no one on a lifeless rock.”

Kristi Noem wasn't fired because her DHS murders people, not because ICE is terrorizing communities and not because she has been deporting any and everyone even Americans, no way, donald loves how she's doing that... she was fired because she contradicted donald about spending 220 million on ad.

Apparently he was upset she disclosed that he approved the ad campaign? Who knows what sets off his insecurities.

And, while we’re at it, do they have echo chambers on the right because they sure like to self-segregate. They don't want to hang out with me any more than I want to hang out with them.

Sorry for rambling. Thoughts?

Even here, I have considered more than once making my account anonymous because I have experienced real-world harassment because of posts.

I interact with MAGA people all day every day with kindness and without judgment. Social Media is how you use it and I use it for connection, not discord. I don’t come here for societal exchange of ideas. I have enough of that in real life.

I get my information from a lot of different sources and perspectives. That’s not why I come to BlueSky. I choose to be here because I can curate my algorithm to be a place where I enjoy spending time. It’s a respite.

I try to practice healthy boundaries and spend my time and energy with people around whom I am comfortable; where I can be myself. Perhaps I’m naive, but I’d like my social media experience (which is not real life) to also reflect healthy boundaries.

We live in MAGAville. Neighbors flew black flags when Biden won. We were personally targeted and harassed. One neighbor has a “RIP Charlie” sticker. My Mom’s side of the family is MAGA. I have MAGA clients. I interact with them everyday. But I do not spend my personal time with them.

I feel this. And I don’t think “echo chamber” is the right way to think about what’s really going on. Pardon me a thread while I think out loud for a minute.
