*its fun just letting characters hang out and seeing where they take scenes, though I may need to tighten this one up. My challenge with this book is it has an epic SciFi-Fantasy, multiple MC growth, and relationship arcs/ plots to juggle. Its fun, but tricky to balance.

Today was a good one to edit characters learning defensive magic (Rarkin doesn't trust the substance, while Rinth's hand-to-hand combat reflexes interfere), & ribbing each other & having fun. Which somehow led to the aro-ace & pan chars offering perspectives into each other's contrasting worlds 🤷

There's still time left today 😄

I had to repeat a compliance test because I answered it correctly too, when the test answer was so vague it could be wrong 🙃. Repeating boring tasks doesn't help!

I'm lucky that its mainly tests as part of compliance training that really trip me up, and usually not enough to fail, just enough to be frustrating.

Yeah, tests that are testing reading comprehension skills, when they're supposed to be testing conceptual understanding drive me nuts, especially as a teacher who has a very clear understanding of the difference between the two.

Oh that sucks. I mainly have it with compliance tests at work (in this case for a Uni course I'm about to start), where usually you either don't need 100%, or if necessary, can resit.
If the second is an accessibility issue, can you bring that up with someone other than the prof?

The autistic experience of getting a test question 'wrong' because its poorly worded. Apparently I was supposed to select the vaguely worded answer which, depending on context -no context having been provided- could be; right, and wrong and entirely irrelevant 😂

I find it simpler, quicker and easier to get into, period. And it won't be just like the first, nor will the next, as the genre blending is changing from policing crime, to some form of crime war, to in book 3; oh shit, is this a full on, extensively resourced revolution?

You can have that worry of; am I making this as good as book one, and will readers like it as much?
But I only have a few reviews on book 1 so far, so I'm not really feeling that pressure, and hopefully won't until I'm done! 😆

This is true of so many places right now.

I love working on 2nd books in a series. There's no need introduce a new world, or show who an unknown MC is. You just write a fun re-intro to the main characters scene, then send them to confront monsters attacking a town for reasons above their pay grade.
