This painting has white textured clouds in a moody gray-blue sky over a dark blue sea that is meeting a rocky shore. There are delightful bits of green moss and red algae or seaweed on the rocks.

Waking Day, Plein Air ~ 8x10 Oil/Panel/Palette Knife

I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way—things I had no words for.

Oil painting is a process of preparing a slow-drying paint and applying it to a surface to create an image that dries slowly enough to be reworked and blended, but permanently enough to last for centuries.

In the desert, you can remember your name, ‘cause there ain’t no one for to give you no pain.

To the attentive eye, each moment of the year has its own beauty, and in the same field, it beholds, every hour, a picture which was never seen before, and which shall never be seen again.

Life is like a landscape. You live in the midst of it but can describe it only from the vantage point of distance.
