Thank you. We're snug as bugs in a rug due to these hugs. We can remember a happy prospect of meeting Rusty, but a veteran's companion dog newly arrived next door in Florida has us rolling out of our naps and gazing around the yard. A powerful nose has Charlie thinking she displays a sweet nature.🐕😍

When you love him thisss much, you laugh at how an old vacuum runs in the seldom used back room, making you remove his white fur from a clear plastic waste chamber repeatedly! Daily life with a dear dog has it's fun side, fur sure. We'll keep plugging until we can leave our old home memories behind😉

We're home tonight after a wind driven haul up from Florida. Charlie has the duty doing to his duck what a bird dog must do to his dumpy old duck. We wish this would never end but I can't duck the truth. We're both getting older and I will be there for him when his time does come. 'til then, a home.

Many of us know the love a dog has for us. They have a deep knowledge of our hurts that defies easy explanation. I've had about 10 minutes of steady dog pal observation from off to the side and his eyes never waivered. Until Charlie gave me a wink. I'd put into words who's gone. Then he got closer.💞

Jeffery is in tears, having not known 'til right shocking and saddening now. I'm going to have to run my head under my shower in the older home where I first brought the rescue(r) dog and friend, Charlie, to live beside me. I'm so sorry for your loss!

He's my angel, for sure. I kept running to keep between Charlie and Peanut Armadillo. I could've stepped into any one of the holes in the turf. I thought I'd accept holes foster dogs dug here, as I saw them with the home owner soldier during final walk thru. Peanut lives in a den under our big shed?

We're thinking we'll do the consistent job of traveling today. But the best I'm likely to do is drive a new vacuumer over this fun flooring, while a hairy dog supervises. Because... last night in the overcast moonlight Charlie caught up with a lively armadillo in the backyard. Luckily, he obeyed me!

I grew up with photographs Dad, an Air Force military policeman, bought or I'm afraid took with a German camera I've inherited. Blood in the sand in a remote Saudi city circa 1955. He was already in country for awhile, perhaps supporting Korea and the UN. The beheadings, etc are real and enduring.🏝️

I tried switching to pub cheese in a tub hoping the horseradish would turn off Charlie. It may not have been the noise of opening a package of sliced cheese that brought him running with hopeful posturing within sight. It was cheddar smells calling "Charlie!"

I felt lucky to go from chest surgery to prove I had something other than cancer and to go back into my uniform during the war in Afghanistan. So I put on a different, a blue uniform, after military retirement. Hooray for volunteering!💙
