Does anyone ever see something that they like and then immediately get anxious and miserable for no discernable reason? Asking for a friend.

I'm amidst a journey of self discovery, but I can't really think of anything that I really, really like to see? At least not enough to create things for it? I'm just rambling because I'm up too late. Maybe I'll look back on this in a few years and smile because I'll have it all figured out.

It's not a "burnout" thing or anything. I've always felt like I've got to "force" myself to create. It's extremely rare that I feel true inspiration. It's very vexing.

It's awkward because I'm literally an "artist" as a day job. I enjoy it, sure, but I always feel a little uncomfortable talking to my "real" artist coworkers. They've got so much passion and are just so excited, meanwhile, I'm just kinda there.

A lot of times I don't feel like a "real" artist. I often struggle to actually draw. I'll talk to people and they'll be so excited about all the things they want to draw and how much they love it, and I'll just be sitting there like, "Wow, I don't think I've ever felt like that ever "

Man, I forgot how small they actually were. I remember mine being so much bigger

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
