There's probably something to do with compilations. Hear me out: lots of these tracks are willy-nilly everywhere and licensed galore, whereas Madonna doesn't license. But also the sheer amount of singles she had, yet only recently passed a million (actual) sales on Into A Groove.

I wasn't watching live as the ads do my head in, but there was a far better vibe. The Manc legends were a nice touch and even Noel was on gracious form. Plus the genuine OMG! of guest stars turning up was ace. Rosalia winning what was assumed to be the Taylor award was the final chefs kiss, too.

the Observer's 'they moved the Brits to Manchester but only one winner came from there' was a weird take. The show being opened by someone who is the world's biggest male popstar who grew up down the road in Cheshire obviously was edited out.
