Walked into the movie theatre to the sound of my own voice tonight like “Hey, I know that guy.”

Signed a rider to my contract (accidentally in glitter gel pen) to learn the role. Extra $100/week and don’t have to do a put-in rehearsal unless the actor actually goes out. 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Me being told two days before opening that the creative team was told I was understudying a character that is NOT IN MY CONTRACT AND THUS I DID NOT LEARN.

“Everyone HATES having to do the understudy put-in runs. No one has any energy or wants to be there.”

I woke up the night before last with my annual computer virus dream.

FB really loves showing me the “people I might know” when it doesn’t even show me the posts of the people I’m already friends with.

The day after this my agent informed me that they might be doing it as a non-union commercial and that they client thought I could just choose to do non-union stuff???? Anyways, I’ve been waiting in limbo for four days so far waiting to see if they’ll go union.

Booked another commercial voiceover. This is three for three this year. Really kicking myself for not upgrading my home microphone sooner.

Had a half-way decent audition out-of-town today (involving some puppeteering!!!!) and stopped for an espresso after. Was shocked that they had a little vegan lemon Bundt cake that was actually maybe the best coffee shop treat I’ve ever had.

You know what, yeah, I guess some things I consider “on the nose” go over people’s heads.

I saw a post about “Ten things you might have missed” and the first was his gloves signifying blood on his hands. Like???? The most on the nose costuming decision ever??? Missed it????

I didn’t want to wait for another library hold, so I contacted my friend who bought all the books. She lent me book two and three yesterday!

First full day of rehearsal with the kiddos. One of the youngest came to use my table to make a note in her script:

“Can I use this pencil?”
“Of course!”
“… how do you spell ‘stairs’?”

😭😭😭 The sweetest.

The day before rehearsal starts:

Rehearsal starts tomorrow and my anxiety is spiiiiiking! I don’t even have to talk other than introductions!!! Arghh!!!!

Found out my city has a Plato’s Closet. Bought six decent sweaters but had to go through the mental humiliation ritual of being in a store advertised as for “teens and young adults”.

Cumulatively and text-wise, these three tracks combined are much smaller than any single role I’ve played in the past seven years… but I’m getting paid way, way more.

Finally got the casting breakdown three days before rehearsal. Now that I fiiiiinally know the actual three actor tracks I’m covering and have split them into three separate copies of the script… this feels less daunting.
