Like, release it as research vs the benchmark standard, not a product feature...

I don't know if biggies like MS will suffer reputational damage for it, but people sure aren't going to like AI that breaks their spreadsheets, and could have worse downstream impacts.

Yep. But I think it's ridiculous to add a "feature" to iconic software that defines your brand, with AI that doesn't work.

There's so much irresponsible rolling out of these tools that aren't ready.

Like, I'd expect this stat in an article about them developing it, not an article about them launching it.

I'm thinking about systemic or societal impacts of the high speed adoption of generative AI in so many industries.

Could even be fictional writing, if centered in reality.

Those of us in jobs that use or build generative AI should be the first to educate ourselves on potential long term harm.

Like,writing about a potential point at which there isn't enough publicly-available human-generated raw content to train them on.

Or where there aren't enough experienced staff for a role because AI impacted the workforce pipeline
