Older people can get jobs in a tech startup. I was 48 when I got my job in my first start up and 51 when I got my job in my 2nd . Academics have a huge amount of transferable skills , it’s all about how you present them in both your CVs and at interview

Thanks so much for posting this. I am thinking of my next steps and I think my next job is not in academia. I don’t think the culture is good for me, and I think working for a smaller company would be nice. I don’t want to feel like a cog.

They usually really go for the grass, and when they saw me approach they ran toward the fence. I think I served them a great disappointment. I’d like to think they’re still talking about it today.

And if any of you are wondering why I pet a skunk, it’s fair to say I didn’t think it through. Now having said that, I’d do it again.

So yesterday I pet this skunk called Gary and then I wanted to feed some llamas but the llamas were so disgusted by the way my hands smelled they refused to let me feed them. The attached photos are relevant.

Can’t even order a passport because to do so I need my naturalisation certificate which PIP people lost, then found, and have held onto since September. So no leaving the country for the foreseeable future for me. There goes my conference travel plans.

The new requirement of a uk passport for dual citizens to enter the UK is an absolute mess. Literally no one I’ve mentioned this to knew this was happening, it’s effective as of today, and I learnt about it from Instagram. Why does Uk treat dual citizens like this?
