fair! they are correct on it being identifying though, i hear that style of reloading referred to as "gears reloads" since "tactical reload" is comfortably another thing at this point
it also allows for unique dialogue for characters for doing successful/unsuccessful reloads that no other game has
i feel like gears reload as it evolved in the later entries does a pretty decent job striking a balance. the more commonly available weapons have a wider area to get a 'good' reload (as opposed to a perfect) and the overall reload times for not using the QTE are shorter iirc
not perfect, but better

look man i'm obviously against AI but i'm not even gonna touch that to try and reach out and say:
