I disagree with forecasts that assume a rebound in 2026 (e.g., U.S. Travel’s +3.7%). My view is that 2025’s 5–6% decline persists into 2026 with no recovery, leaving international tourism to the USA roughly 8–10% below its most recent peak by 2027—one of the largest non-crisis declines on record.

This post serves as the one and last, the ultimate final acknowledgment by me, Michael Gogel, confirmation to myself, as my own feedback loop, that I forecasted accurately, again, the biggest crash in recent memory happening as we speak, only that it isn’t being recognized yet.
