I would take my laptop to the bar while it was slow in the afternoons and just chill and work and chat with the bartender (if they felt like it). Within a couple weeks I was friends with all the bartenders and half of the wait staff and I was getting free drinks all the time.

I've been unemployed since January. The last time I lost my job in 2020 I was getting messages from recruiters every day, this time almost nothing.
