My PCP didn't give me or charge me for a physical exam when I went in to renew my GERD meds. She did check for interaction with my weak kidneys or my asthma triggers. That was part of the med check.
Apparently now they _will_ bill for exams for all my comorbidities. 🙄

Yeah, happened with my psych provider. Went for required med check. Reported: what I was feeling, what was new in my life, my reactions. Purpose: evaluate if meds were still working, if new factors indicated and med adjustments.
Split billed for medication management AND psychotherapy. 🙄

There was a lot of Covid fueled influx. High tech firms found a friendly regulatory environment and housing was cheaper.
Health care is a sticking point now. Not enough providers.
Not just OB/Gyns. Reproductive age health care providers don't want to live there and are leaving if possible. FL too

Lots of the people leaving FL are Blue. They've mostly given up on the state. I'd leave if I could afford it.
But yes, I don't think we'll see the influx of conservatives unless/until they can figure out a solution to the insurance issues. It's not just climate change but poor state regulation.

Despite strong authoritarian GOP parties, AZ, GA, & NC are majority Blue. They're just voter suppressed due to the efforts of said authorita parties.
In order to flip them Blue, what's truly needed is organization at the local government and state house level.

One reason for the current anti-immigration push and the refusal to reform our insanely Byzantine immigration process.
Note they're targeting immigrants at their regular immigration check ins. Law-abiding, long settled immigrants, highly motivated and actively seeking naturalized citizenship.

I am aware that their devotion to 2nd A gun rights has strict limitations on who actually possesses those rights.
The fact that CBP shot a member of the privileged class who have 2nd A rights has gotten them riled up in a way previous killings have not.

The easiest way would be for him, like Pelosi, to retire as Leader and serve out his term as senior NY Senator. I doubt his ego would allow it. Barring a serious medical incident (and he seems healthy) the power & perks are too much to lose. Like Biden the drug of his indispensability is strong.

OTOH Schumer is useless. The Senate rules give the minority leader considerable power; McConnell, may he rot, was a master at exploiting them.
His political brain is still frozen in the 20th century. He's utterly unequal to this moment. We need to chuck Chuck.

If enough of his caucus revolts Hakeem Jeffries might be pressured into doing the right thing. Herding cats is an underrated skill.
His caucus is out of power and fractured; he's done a decent job holding it together. I'd wait and see what he can do with a stronger hand before giving up on him.

It's totally consistent with traditional RW politics. This was a clear 2nd A violation. A (white male) person with a valid concealed carry permit, who never removed it from its holster, was openly executed by tyrannical government thugs who cited his firearm as a reason he was deemed a threat.

The 1BBB gave ICE a huge slush fund such that "defunding" them in this round of appropriations will have no practical effect. Until the Dems hold a majority they're stuck working with the crappy hand they've been dealt.

The vote makes no real difference in ICE funding thanks to the huge slush funds they're sitting on from the 1BBB, it funds some modest curbs on their actions (that they'll almost certainly ignore ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯), and funds important other DHS departments.

The GOP put two clauses in their BBB that pre-approved the funding for ICE and CBP through the end of the Federal fiscal year.
Their votes to fund DHS were for other departments such as FEMA, TSA, etc that provide aid and keep essential services that people need running.
Their hands were tied.

He's definitely in bad shape. If you have a ton of money however they can keep you tottering around for quite a while. He's almost certainly monitored 24/7. So yeah, I'm not holding my breath waiting for the funeral.

Not cheaper but cheaper to get into. Most apartments require a security deposit and first month's rent up front; quite a few require first month and last.
When you live paycheck to paycheck coming up with that much money at once isn't possible. Your credit's usually trashed; borrowing it's out too.

(Lived through that in CT. Lots of ice storms = lots of power outages. We got to know the drill and stocked up in advance. Otherwise no biggie -- HUGE central chimney, wood stoves, woodlot in back.)
