The W (aka the NBA) isn’t allowing the Tribe “to sell to either of two groups that would pay the most money and keep the (Sun) in New England”
Instead, they are being bullied into taking less money “so the league can direct the team to its preferred owner & cash in later on a future expansion team.”

Why waive the relocation fee? I thought their excuse for not approving the Boston or Hartford sales was that the WNBA wouldn’t get a relocation fee. Why are they trying so hard to screw over an Indigenous tribe?

I really don’t understand why they want to leave New England without a team. It seems like Cathy is just trying to squeeze as much money as possible out this deal without thinking about how this will affect current and future W fandom in New England.

Reports: C's minority owner buys Sun for $325M A group led by Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca has reached a deal to buy the WNBA's Connecticut Sun for a record $325 million and plans to move the team to Boston, according to multiple reports.
