Shorebird is standing on land amongst green grass and ice plants. It has a medium length neck and longish orange bill.

Heading home today. Finished our SoCal trip with 147 species, which seems bonkers. 5 lifers for me:
Ridgway’s rail, Swinhoe’s white-eye, marbled godwit, elegant tern, and lesser nighthawk. Black-throated magpie Jay and CA gnatcatcher, you guys are on my hit list for next trip.
