I used to work with a man with polio and in his 30’s had to start getting his feet then legs amputated because of neuropathy. I wonder if his parents paid his medical bills? Who in the hell wants their child to endure that much unnecessary pain and trauma?

People don't know or have forgotten how awful it was to live in a world with terrible childhood diseases. I had most of them, and spent lots of time in bed. Our MD made house calls and my mom did not work outside the home, not like today! We really don't want to go backwards, people.
