I feel you, I struggle with that a looot actually. But think about it this way: friends might want to include you (as they should), and yet at the same time not be aware of your needs - not of malice, but because they don't hear them often, and because of that they dunno when to ask

how long ago? Plans can always change, this could be one of these occasions! Maybe you could talk with them honestly, say that you're unsure of them additional people - no harm with talking, and you might come up with some compromise.
