Tomorrow we lift the 9.30am restriction on bus passes, letting older and disabled people travel whenever they want.
It was good to thank the GM Older and Disabled People’s Panels for pushing for it.

This Labour government succeeded where the Tories failed – legislating to abolish Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions and transform private renting.
Now Reform want to repeal our Renters’ Rights Act and deny tenants the security, rights and protections they’ve secured.
Disgraceful.
Reform planning on going into the next election promising to:
- scrap sick pay for low earners
- allow workers shifts to be cancelled with no notice
- ensure tenants can be evicted from a home near their children’s schools without any reason
The last Labour government established academies as engines of excellence in our schools.
Today Labour sets out how excellence will be for everyone: every child achieving and thriving.

Yesterday when I was out speaking to residents, I spoke to parents at their wits’ end over SEND provision. Schools are also struggling. It’s vital everyone gets more support.
