Labour MPs just voted to expand free school meals to half a million more children, lifting 100,000 children out of poverty.

The Tories and Reform UK voted against.

Only Labour will give children growing up in our country the best start in life.

We delivered 795 new social, council and genuinely affordable homes in 2025, including here locally in Withington.🏑

Our new Manchester Labour budget will help us accelerate that delivery and continue to build and invest in the homes that our local residents need in Manchester.🌹

Tomorrow we lift the 9.30am restriction on bus passes, letting older and disabled people travel whenever they want.

It was good to thank the GM Older and Disabled People’s Panels for pushing for it.

Weird that Reform is OK with Irish citizens voting but not commonwealth ones. Wonder what the difference could be?

This Labour government succeeded where the Tories failed – legislating to abolish Section 21 β€˜no fault’ evictions and transform private renting.

Now Reform want to repeal our Renters’ Rights Act and deny tenants the security, rights and protections they’ve secured.

Disgraceful.

Reform planning on going into the next election promising to:
- scrap sick pay for low earners
- allow workers shifts to be cancelled with no notice
- ensure tenants can be evicted from a home near their children’s schools without any reason

Yesterday when I was out speaking to residents, I spoke to parents at their wits’ end over SEND provision. Schools are also struggling. It’s vital everyone gets more support.

Will be interested to see what reforms are outlined tomorrow.

Voters are increasingly recognising that. See the whole picture πŸ‘‡
