Our labs study innate immune regulation during bacterial infection. We focus on interplay between mitochondria and Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Robbie Watson) and post-transcriptional control of macrophage activation (Kristin Patrick). Views are our own.

Dear #microbiology and #immunology community- I took a break from social media after I deleted my Twitter account, but am back here. Please help me rebuild my community by following me and amplifying this message- I will follow you back. Thank you and I look forward to our many interactions!

Anyone know if IAR shuts down if the government shuts down?
Study Section peeps might want to download the grants they have to review...
According to news reports, NIH is on track to award nearly all of its FY25 budget. Program officersβworking long hours despite staff lossesβmade it possible. Take a moment to thank your PO for their dedication.

27.09.2025 18:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A huge shoutout to all the dedicated grants management specialists at the NIH who are working around the clock to push grants out before the Sep 30 deadline. And also to the POs responding to frantic emails.
Not an easy job under the best of circumstances and right now it's the pits.
Thank you!
Not necessarily a substitute, but I really enjoyed the pumpkin munchkins we got for lab meeting last week.

Hope this inspires others with unfairly terminated awards to try again!
