Yes, a great time period. Think this is the third different game I've played it in.

Thought by this point I'd be wealthy enough to retire, play all the games, read all the books and paint all the minis I keep buying... Wargaming, memes, animals and silliness. Mostly.

A model Hobbit hole with a Gandalf miniature
I decided to try my hand at making some Lord of the Ring's/The Hobbit scenery
with this Hobbit house for a first attempt, I'm pretty pleased with the results
The bulk of the house is made from foam packing the frontage I bought online

Dominion of Pike and Shotte - Ravenna 1512. Lovely, lovely rules. A wee kick up the arse to paint some of them.
Dominion of Pike and Shotte cover.
Some 2mm formations for the Great Italian Wars.
Minimalist wargaming
Ravenna 1512 with 2mm armies (from an on haitus project)
Dominion of Pike & shotte. Seen the series on YT, didn't have a high opinion, initially.
Found these on Wargames Vault - what, a fun, fun wee game. Single dice rolls, very rock/paper/scissors. & toolboxy âď¸

I can't find a pic of them assembled. My Axis were just WWII mixed Warlord kits with EVERY spare weapon glued on.
The flamers are probably a good idea.

Maybe WWII yamks with 40k Catachan arms and heads...?
They're normal guys, but better. Essentially *not* Captain America.
Get some Paragons in there, they'll level the scales.
K47 is like Fallout for me, just the right level of bonkers.
That's a blast from the past. A grueling game. Enjoy!
03.03.2026 10:38 â đ 2 đ 0 đŹ 0 đ 0Six handles, six figures, keeps the mini's free of fingerprints and grime AND keep the brain focused on these alone. I find six to be the sweet spot for working on this scale figures.
Another recent quality of life improvement.
I'd bought a painting handle (on a whim from GW, there's nowhere else in my city for hobby stuff) and thought it was quite useful.
Picked up another 5, which both keeps a cap on how many minis I work & stops me switching between a dozen different things.
Mjoll and Yrsarald - very happy with these, particularly the metal and leather armour on each.
Derkeethus and the Bleak Falls Guardian. The camera washes out the tunic; it has a bit more depth. The Guardian is a busy model, I feel some of the details get washed away. I think they'll look better with the bases done.
Slower progress with the Elder Scrolls project, mainly because I've switched to painting some characters & wish to take more time on them.
A fun challenge to match the colours to the studio paint jobs without getting hung up on quality.
Can see the end of phase 1

The cover of MTV Alice in Chains Unplugged, an image showing the band on the stage.
Nirvana Unplugged gets all of the plaudits but I've always thought Alice in Chains' own effort is tremendous.
Wonderful recording too; turn it up on a decent system, close your eyes & it sounds like Layne Staley has come back from the great beyond.
Lovely work.

Some of the backlog of figs to base and varnish.
Big progress today on my Elder Scrolls "quick" project (which has not proven to be slower than planned.
I've managed to varnish these guys, after while worrying about ruining them.
A wee backlog built up to base, so flock and tufts etc tomo đ¤.

February has been a drawn out time of dental pain, work and rain.
But my order from @fenrisgames.com arrived. Some urns, amphora(e?) stalactite groups and a big chunky bit of resin.
Planning to use if for some Elder Scrolls dungeons.
Lovely items and sculpts

Again, lovely colour choice on the uniforms and horses.
The figs also have the benefit of being cheap as chips to buy.
I adore that film. I'm indifferent to Revels.

Oaft, you've done some fine painting on those fellows.
But those models just have nothing going on their front, do they.
That's an impressive force. You've done a grand job. When Warlord release the VaS models, there was a lot of griping about the scale chosen. I however think it looks amazing on the table.
11.02.2026 14:17 â đ 8 đ 1 đŹ 1 đ 0Heh. So it was laziness. I painted mine as a hodgepodge, this colour leg here, another colour arm there. Like they were out of supply and made use of what they could. Fun times.

Hmmm, my Huron was the "give me five" lightning claw with the separate familiar.
Are they now not renegades at all, all Chaos Marines? I've no horse in the race here, but that's a bit sad. The old background with them being a real mishmash of everyone just unhappy was what drew me in.
