Right? I’m pretty sure I’d like CDPAP if I knew anything about it. But my takeaway was “wow, the Health Commissioner is sketchy af.”

Seriously, my takeaways are “how incompetent is my state Department of Health that they would make this?”

Like, this guy looks guilty as fuck. I don’t know what CDPAP is but I know it’s completely jacked.

Like, he starts talking about “the Governor and I would never let that happen,” my only reaction was “oh no, what did the governor do?”

Do I think he's another middle-aged white guy who is using his platform to be an iconoclast? Yeah, and in a way that's really part of the problem.

(I say this as a middle-aged white guy with a penchant for iconoclastic posts. Which might be why it rubs me the wrong way).

If someone writes a post about "owning the libs," it's not as dangerous as something that suggests, "we should go along with it" or "we should accept this as the new real." Which is exactly what he's saying.

Do I think he's a fan of Trump? Not really.

It might sound dramatic, but whenever he does something, we have to call it what it is. It's an active assault on the rights and lives of people. And to dress it up as "change" normalizes that.

You're not wrong, but in a way, it's worse.

He's not praising Trump, but he is normalizing him. Putting him in a context. Crafting a story about how he's the next step.

And that, in my personal opinion, is just about the worst thing we can do. Because we're in resistance mode right now.

Then I'm sorry. I don't think you get to be edgier than the vampires with trench coats and katanas. Still cool, just not "fingerless gloves and wrap-around shades" edgelord.

I mean, it's almost nice when people post things like this, because it shows us who we're talking to.

So yeah, when people show you who they are, let them. And if you love VtM, cool, I get it... no shame on you for enjoying problematic things. But god, try to make it better and edge out the edgelords?

We want to make it so that if you're familiar with Dracula, or Interview With a Vampire, you have all the lore you need.

They're not a tremendous focus, but we do spend a bit of time in the workshops creating just enough lore for you to play. The focus is more on the social interactions, and we provide a structure for that.
