Incheon International Airport, 2014.

I got caught there on a missed connection to Japan and it felt like every 50 feet was yet another Instagram photo opportunity, but in the dead of night (I landed at 10PM and my next flight wasn't until 1AM) it was especially liminal

The first answer to mind feels a little more private than I'm willing to share.

To head it off, it takes a lot for me to feel safe, and even more so to remove bad associations when something has made me feel uncomfortable in a space.

So I recognize the intention, but please no “you are so loved” etc - I’m not asking for that, and forced closeness feels very unsafe to me.

I know I’m idealistic to a fault 😬 and want to assume well, even when it’s hurting me to. And it’s scary to be vulnerable and get something that breaks that idealistic image.

I also don’t know how to ask for things, I’m so used to taking care of myself on my own 😅

So really it’s my own fault.
