Still slowly working my way through this one. It requires a lot of focus, there are many POV, I don't like any of the characters & I'm finding it very hard to follow due to other huge distractions. The author has perfectly captured the working atmosphere of an art school though.

This clip makes it abundantly clear the @uklabour.bsky.social government is planning to introduce a copyright exception for commercial research (read: AI training) - which would be disastrous for British creatives.

Spain and now France have condemned the USA's attacks in Iran as illegal, so has Canada.

Please will the rest of the west wake up and realize it will likely be Greenland next and that they need to stop enabling Donald Trump by agreeing with whatever he does.

As the warmongering of a self-styled β€˜peacemaker’ scatters shrapnel & body parts across the Middle East, & sends flames soaring over the region, which may yet engulf the world, it seems appropriate to dwell on what war is & what it isn’t in the company of one of its greatest witnesses, Wilfred OwenπŸ‘‡

'The poems here, hopeful and forgiving, are a balm and an antidote to the current coldness of the world. I look forward to getting happily lost in them again and again.' - Steve Denehan, author of 'A Quarter Dead and Half Alive'

'The poems here, hopeful and forgiving, are a balm and an antidote to the current coldness of the world. I look forward to getting happily lost in them again and again.' - Steve Denehan, author of 'A Quarter Dead and Half Alive'

In 'This Joyful Interlude' Lawrence Moore shares a tender and reflective collection of poems that explore love, memory and the quiet wonder of the natural world. With a gentle voice and vivid imagery, Moor invites readers to slow down and notice the beauty in both the outer landscape and the inner life.

From rustling leaves to quite moments of longing and reflection, these poems speak of the joys and sorrows that shape us.

A follow-up to 'Aerial Sweetshop' and 'The Breadcrumb Trail', this full-length collection marks Moore's growth as a poet, blending tradition with openness and emotional clarity.

'This Joyful Interlude' is a warm, thoughtful companion for anyone drawn to poetry that comforts, questions and uplifts.

Sleeping Foxes

When all dust has settled
on the narratives of our lives,
there shall be peace within this garden.

The ivy’s creep will continue,
unimpeded,
over the paws of sleeping foxes,

whilst industrious dormice
muster in numbers,
gathering midnight treats.

Those weeds,
so thinly scattered
between the concrete
may have their day,

sunflowers sway
in a peopleless
springtime breeze.

A1: It's everywhere in electronic design automation. And it's impacting prospecting for my writing clients. 20+ yrs in this niche and I still have to prove my worth to new clients versus AI. However, initial glance is AI can't handle PhD-level subject complexity my clients demand. #FreelanceFriends

Parting thought: part of running your business is choosing clients and choosing projects. One of the most powerful tools you have is to walk if your boundaries are getting trampled. Thick skin is a plus, trying to find a solution helps, but ultimately, you must control your world.

I’ve had some terrible news today.

I don’t need anything, but I’d like for anyone reading this to take two bits of advice.

If there’s something you want to do, and think you can, try to do it.

And tell people you love that you love them, frequently and honestly.

You won’t regret either thing
