Good points, I think Fairfax is a solid option, whereas Waller's defeats in 1643 lessened his chances. Though Brooke seemed to hold a broader base of support.

Black-Throated Blue Warbler
Read it now
Novellas are a virtue in self/indie publishing. Novellas allow experimentation and weirdness and itβs easy to take a chance on a new author when itβs sub 30k words.
All that to say, Iβve got a weird little novella (over 250 copies sold!):

King Charles I's Coronation.
William Laud, Bishop of St Davids, noted that 2nd February 1626 was a bright 'sunshiney day' and that the coronation went without interruption and in very good order. The ceremony lasted from 10:00am - 3:00pm.

Iβm so excited to share the details of my next book with you, Before the Mountain Falls.
Norma Sparrow might even be my favourite character so far! She goes through so much in this story but never loses her spirit and determination to keep pushing for a better future. #WW2 #historicalfiction

On this day in 1649. King Charles I was executed in central London. The rump of MPs left in Parliament, following the army's purge, declared that no proclamation of a new monarch should occur. They abolished the House of Lords within weeks.
