Nintendo has announced that with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, certain upgrades will be available for free. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be free upgrades. On OG Switch, they gave away Mario Kart 8 DLC to members, along with other things as well.

Mario Kart World is going to rock. It basically being Nintendo's Forza Horizon is very exciting, IMO.

This isn't true. Charging for an upgrade is fairly standard practice. I don't know why people are trying to say it is a Nintendo thing.
