The city is never going to let this happen and open themselves up to the potential legal liability.

β€˜Wake up call,’ Toronto councillor says the city should follow New York and pay residents to shovel snow - NOW Toronto A Toronto councillor is calling on the city to pay residents to shovel snow, inspired by New York’s example.

A city that closed the elevated walkway around Nathan Phillips Square in the winter to avoid potential liability isn't going to let random people shovel sidewalks and risk residents slipping, falling, and suing. nowtoronto.com/news/wake-up...

Sunset in Toronto is at 6:01 p.m. today. It won't be before 6 p.m. again until November 1st. Spring is coming.

Signal priority, definitely. But I was on the King streetcar today for the first time in a while, and they need to remove every other stop.

To clarify, it's a great idea in the context of snow removal. Maybe not so great in the context of not getting sued.

Sounds like a great idea that Toronto would study for a few years before ultimately shelving after being advised of legal risks and insurance costs.

Saw a guy on the bus this morning wad up a ball of napkins and light it on fire in his hand. He re-lit it a number of times, everytime the flame went out. Nobody batted an eye. A new one on the TTC.

And, look on the bright side, maybe Trump will realize you can't get the good feels of beating Canada in hockey if we're the 51st state, so he decides to leave alone.

Quite the scene at Toys 'R Us, where customers, trying to use their gift cards, have been told the store isn't letting more people in. Apparently police have been called.

Maybe I'm overthinking Trump's ramblings, but how would this work? A trade deal would allow Chinese companies to take over Canadian NHL teams and the new owners would shut them down?

Regardless of what anyone thinks about your house, you're entitled to live in one, and re-zoning doesn't change that.
