You guys should read Cirque Royale. It's described as slice-of-life (true), but don't let the clown/mime protags fool you, it uses the characters' species to talk extensively about mental illness, racial divide, and other nuanced subjects. Legit broke my heart at times. Lighthearted AND heartfelt.

- Louise knew that she was pretty when she was younger, but is having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that she's aging.

- Quinn knows she's hot and doesn't care if you agree or not.
- Penelope projects confidence but she doesn't think she's attractive at all. She grew up comparing herself to Quinn, and got into make-up and fashion to make herself stand out.
