When graduate employees at Mizzou were stripped of our health insurance in 2015 with 12 hours' notice before coverage expired, we walked out and formed a union... and the librarians marched and rallied with us.
Every librarian I know is a phenomenal human on top of being great at their job.
I really want to change my ringtone to Kendrik Lamar screaming "MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAARD!" since my that's my last name in another language.
Then I remember that as a theatre maker and an educator, my phone is on silent or vibrate 98% of the time anyway.

Even if one is *somehow* not compelled by all of the absolutely vital life-changing and live-saving medical research the NIH supports, self-interest from the economic benefits their work provides should convince people to want the NIH to retain its funding.
