I would really like to finish my current WIP this month, which is a one-off romantasy short novel called Starfall, so I can go back to my other WIP, the last installment of the Nightstar trilogy, which I've been working on since 2022. I'm like halfway done.

I always start with characters and their dynamics, and only then it all starts falling into place in terms of worldbuilding and story. I don't do it on purpose, even when reading I focus more on characters than anything else, just something I gravitate towards

Do you ever feel like one character arrives in your mind fully formed

and you then have to quickly mock up friends for them??

Like one character has a whole life story and another is tentatively called Jessica.
