If there’s a group that’s going to have superpowers on how to give AI context, it’s going to be them. They've been doing context engineering for decades.

I grew up in Woodrow Wilson Elementary's library, then the Manhattan Public Library (The Little Apple, not NYC), and then Kansas State University's research library. AI is more useful if you give it context, and librarians have always provided that context for me.

The original context engineering was called "read a book."

I spoke to someone yesterday from the Brooklyn Public Library and they mentioned that the librarians were worried about what AI will mean for them.

But that pelican looks like it could be in the Tour de France (compared to previous models)

Tbh this has been one of my favorite book purchases in a while. Been a while since mainstream publishers printed hardcover but I my assumption is that this book will still be relevant in a year

Pretty smart to push in this direction for .Net. The .Net web dev space has always seemed to trend toward complexity vs. you’re showing how to decrease it.

It’s the pairing of AI's speed with developer expertise that turns “quick ideas” into maintainable, robust solutions.

Traditional dev tools remain essential—they're still vital in the AI era.

Quick one-off scripts? AI excels at this.

I use AI for custom bash and Python scripts all the time. What used to take 30 minutes of web searches now takes 2 minutes and a few nudges.

But those scripts are small—easy to throw away or rewrite.

The narrative online is: “AI will replace developers.”

But for now, developers are still critical to turn AI drafts into something that scales, integrates, and evolves over time.

AI tools are amazing for trying ideas quickly. I can iterate, prototype, and debug faster than ever.

But when it’s time to solidify those ideas into reusable, maintainable code—traditional refactoring tools shine.
