Some N. CA locations. According to NWS Eureka, max wave heights were 1.2 ft in Humboldt Bay and 3.6 ft in Crescent City. Point Arena looks like it also saw waves around 3 ft.

Tide will be ~2.5 ft here, so water should be around high tide levels.

The first waves are forecasted to arrive at the following locations and specified times.

I notice it the most with Excel due to the use of Google Sheets, but I think it pre-dates Covid. I am also noticing it now with Word where they don't even know how to get a Word doc from Google docs.

Instead of an apology for a pre-sunrise call, there was some spiel about not having time to fit calls to CA in later in the day. Even 8:20 am would be too early for that.

The downside is that I think there is some value in making them manually calculate the means and SD/SE in Excel. And sometimes I take too much time trying to figure out how to do things in R that I could quickly do in Excel. 2/2

I give annotated R code in my Ecology class -- so they learn how to import data, run the code and interpret data, and manipulate a few things. I started having them do figures in R this year too (in part to save time), but they have to add their own axis labels in R. 1/2

It's also notable that in a year when NSF made only 1,000 GRF awards nationwide, none of them appear to have gone to current students at any campus of the CSU, the nation's largest four-year university system; just nine current CSU students got Honorable Mentions

Actually, your box is different than both, but one of the diffs was natural vs. artificial flavors. Maybe they improved the US manufactured ones.

There are 2 versions manufactured in diff. places - you have the ones I didn't like! Costco ones are larger (2.7 vs. 2.37oz), smoother texture, & the mango tastes like mango ice cream. Other ones are sugary, have a weird after taste, icier texture, lighter color, & definitely don't taste like mango.

I tried to put together an honest assessment of why we even care about weather balloons in a satellite world and why these cuts probably won't be noticed by the public 90% of the time. But the 10% of the time? That's a very, very, very big and concerning 10%.

The current administration is straight up censoring the scientific record by requiring authors to alter an already-accepted research paper because it uses banned words such as "gender" and "equitable" and presents data broken down by sexual orientation.
