Fool me once? I've been watching the NDP make the same mistakes over and over again for my entire adult life, so I want to be wrong, but until I see some actual tangible action it's hard for me to trust it.

I won over a PC voter on Facebook this week to the point that they asked if they could use my words to explain the budget situation to their friends. It works! But we have to step out of the comfortable bubble!

Otherwise the writ drops and you're trying to cram three years worth of relationship and profile building into 30 days when your incumbent opponent is working their connections and putting up a million signs. It's HARD.

Exactly! You need to start planning for the next campaign the day after the election. Canvassing, attending local events, being responsive, engaged and present. You can unseat incumbents doing that.

The NDP aren't going to magically break through outside of HRM just because it would be nice. Or because at this moment many of your friends & like-minded folks are pissed off with Houston.

A whole lot of other people still think he's doing all the right things. THOSE are the ones you have to reach

Of course. But you can't raise more money with no profile. And a lot of community profile development can be low or no cost, between elections.

Give people who might not be able to commit to running a path to help in their riding. Have clear plans for how to start repairing the damage done by the PCs, not just "Houston is bad".

I don't even think it's a question of figuring out the strategy; it's having people who will actually do the work, on the ground, in the communities. Start by looking at local activists. Reach out to them. Offer real, tangible support.

I want to vote NDP, and have done with few exceptions for 30 years. But they've just about worn out their welcome with me. They never learn.

The provincial caucus needs to do... well, anything. I have an NDP MLA. I voted for her. Had to look up her name this week because I couldn't quite remember it; she completely disappeared after the election. And the one issue I emailed her about early on, she punted it to the PC MLA next riding over
