30.05.2025 17:06 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The US Administration has indefinitely blocked *all* student visa applicants from getting a visa interview.
Worldwide, unconditional, no end date. All.
International students are crucial to the US university system, American innovation, and future US prosperity.
If you're an incoming Doctoral candidate to a top US University in 2025/2026 but are reconsidering/considering Canada please see this initiative at Queen's University. www.queensu.ca/grad-postdoc...

Just cruel.
Federal grants to universities are almost entirely on a Letter of Credit basis. Most universities will submit weekly or biweekly drawdowns from the Payment Management System to reimburse recent expenditures. Without those reimbursements universities will be burning through cash unsustainably.

We are aware of efforts by some in government to disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language.
