In 2015, as a representaive of
the Vietnam Interfaith Council,
pastor Nguyen Manh Hung testified before the U.S. Congress about the repression of religious freedom in Vietnam.

Pastor Nguyen Manh Hung was arrested on January 16, 2025, in Vietnam for criticizing the government on Facebook (art. 117).

A pastor since 2011, Hung is a member of the Mennonite Church, which is independent of the official Protestant Church controlled by the Vietnamese regime.

On this day 51 years ago, Communist China attacked on South Vietnam and occupied the Paracel Islands, which belong to Vietnam. For over half a century, Beijing has been aggressively using military force against its neighbors to seize islands that belong to other countries.
