I get what you mean and I think it's a fun hc but I think it being a delibrate reference is a bit of a stretch.

To be fair he is 10 so that seems about the average drawing ability at that age.

I think it might be a sign that they are at least trying to flesh out aspects of the lore they kept rather vague until now. We have gotten a lot of expansion on Iliad and Witchelny so my guess is they want to streamline things more.

A lot of other programs support psd files you should look into how you might be able to continue that project in a different software
