Is the gaffe that she quit a super lucrative national tv job to make YouTube videos that get 300 views?

the pessimistic case against him last year was that he took advantage of a down ACC and he had one of the best on-ball defenders in college basketball to mask a lot of the defensive ineffectiveness his teams have shown for much of his coaching career

biggest fear seems like he's a more charismatic Basketball Satterfield: wins enough to make the postseason, but his teams are laughably short of the best opponents they go against. and it's that much more glaring in basketball, where UofL has understandably higher expectations than football

there were any number of dumb storylines that were inexplicably given oxygen in the lead-up to the 2024 election, but high up the list of the dumbest was the idea of Trump as the "peace candidate" and Kamala as a deranged hawk who was going to start World War 3 and reinsitute the draft

I had my qualms with Fetterman and didn't vote for him in the primary, but he wasn't *this*

@joelanderson.bsky.social your Joey Knight tribute was beautiful, especially as a former preps writer. I always viewed that job as a tremendous honor and approached every story with care because there was a good chance this would be the only time someone would be written about in the newspaper

been pretty astonished by how much faith I've lost in Kelsey the past three months. hasn't helped that the guy UofL wanted has Michigan looking like an unstoppable machine and the guy I wanted has SLU at 26-3

if Andy gets the nomination, prepare yourselves for a 2028 DNC speech from reigning NFL MVP Tyler Shough

I was unfamiliar with your game, former Kansas football coach Mark Mangino

it's astonishing how much Bill Simmons is starting to look like Paul Hollywood

CRITICAL RACE THEORY? BROTHER, EVERY RACE IS CRITICAL

Saw this in Discord and it’s amazing

oh man, I remembered reading about Teevens when he died and was really, really impressed with him

25.02.2026 00:47 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I know he never won a title, but I'd hear out an argument that he's the greatest college football coach of all-time given what he did (and where he did it)

randomly thought about this the other day: of all the legendary college football and basketball coaches of all-time, who was the best, most morally just person? or the least objectionable/sociopathic?

it's probably gotta be Dean Smith. the man helped desegregate an entire state and conference

24.02.2026 23:30 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

I was surprised about how surprised some people were over that. I don't think the guy who worshipped Dean Smith is gonna be a big fan of Donald Trump

between him and Skenes, the Pirates are gonna have some serious Tungsten Arm O'Doyle potential for a couple of years

I've got a soft spot for Eichel and McAvoy because they're BU guys (Brady Tkachuk is, too, but...yanno), and the Hughes brothers seem like good dudes, but yeah, the rest of that team's sadly representative of the political views of most men's hockey players

24.02.2026 02:33 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

it's genuinely impressive how quickly the US men's team's accomplishment went from exciting and heartwarming to something far more unseemly

Pate's whole rationale for having Trump on his show is naive, at best. even if your intent is to talk ball with him, he's fundamentally incapable of doing that without delving into his slew of grievances

RW folks griped about Obama doing a bracket on ESPN, but he always stuck to basketball

23.02.2026 19:17 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

way too many people conflate Trump going to college football games in particular places -- where his ego can get stroked by friendly crowds in deep-red parts of the country -- with him knowing something about the sport

and it's very obvious he doesn't

the silver lining is the game-winning goal scorer is as close a thing as there is to a woke US hockey player

By the way, a reminder on Jack Hughes, since the grifters are already trying to hijack his postgame interview

Spurs haven't conceded a goal in the first 15 minutes and I've successfully gotten my two-year-old to excitedly say "Lego Man" any time Mikel Arteta is shown on the broadcast

a win in my book, regardless of the result

what a glorious sports morning. time to keep those immaculate vibes going with something that has never let me down: watching Tottenham in the North London Derby

in 1980, a US team loaded with Boston University players helps give us the Miracle on Ice. 46 years later another group of ex-BU stars, with a BU alum as coach, beats the most talented team in the world for Olympic gold

the path to American hockey glory is paved by Terriers

I know right-wingers always bring up Obama doing a bracket on ESPN, but he was only there to talk basketball. Trump's fundamentally incapable of not delving into his grievances. and as we saw with McAfee, these dudes like Pate are hilariously over their skis trying to rein him in

he doesn't look like it in the picture with that story, but someone said he models his wardrobe after the bad guy from Wild Wild West and it's always stuck with me

finished John U. Bacon's excellent book on the Edmund Fitzgerald and it has only strengthened my belief that we need to nuke Lake Superior
