Took my Gargantuan Squiggoth, Nipper, to a tournament at the FLGS, and had a good old krumpin time. Ended 2-3 and Nipper even survived a game! #warhammer40k #nerdlings #orks

Ghaz and unit of Boyz stomp over the middle objective to get at some Sicarian Infiltrators in a ruin that were about 11.5 inches away!

Down the line of the table turn 2. Ork mobs hold the central objectives, keeping the Admech pinned back. Also a crocheted squig is keeping watch from the sidelines.

First 40K game of the year last night, Orks vs Admech in the FLGS league. Picked up the win with Ghaz and the lads, thanks in part to a lucky 11 inch charge. #warhammer #nerdlings

I’ve not really looked into TC but I assumed it started out with kitbashed historicals like Turnip28, before printing took over. I guessed the diy creativity aspect was one of the selling points tbh, is the assumption that official plastics will become the expected and enforced norm?

Back in time 25 years? Probably do Orks all over again 😂

Also, I see quite a lot of ‘it was better back in the day’ talk about 40K - this is a reminder that there has always been a spot for broken Eldar 😅

I think the crossover between Narrative and competitive gamers is, as you suggest, much higher than is commonly thought. It’s not two separate boxes, more of a spectrum. That said I do find the distinction useful for planning games and deciding what toys to bring.

Oldies if you can get ‘em. Plastics are a bit basic but the metals are very characterful and kind of defined what Orks look like for a couple of decades.

I see a lot of different Mortarions on the socials, he’s a great model and almost every scheme suits him. I’ve seen green, white, purple, yellow, black and many many more. Some bright, some dark, some with fancy freehand wings and some covered in dirty oils. They’re all really cool.

L shaped forests instead of ruins? That’s a pretty cool change of scenery (literally).

Sometimes it’s fun to try and match a scheme or do your own spin on it, but I think mostly it’s fun to develop your own. Morty is a daemon so I think he can look like whatever he wants 😂

Fourth game with this Ork green tide list, this time against ‘diggy bugs’. A real close game but a third win for Ghaz and the Boyz, mostly down to the warlord’s destructive power and some admittedly good luck to bonk the Swarmlord with regular Boyz. #warhammer #orks #nerdlings

It happened. I have run out of display space. As such, and because it's Orktober my Necromundan Sump Orks are up for sale. DMs are open if you're interested. If it sells I'll build something ridiculously large for my chaos androids. And a bike for the kid.

Busy Orky battlefield. Ghazghkull and 20 Boyz are in a ruined building with a battlewagon poking out. Downfield a swarm of opposing Ork units are taking up positions around the ruins to draw line of sight or changes. Tankbustas are on the back left of the pic while a bunch of trukks and a big load of flash gits are on the right.

Tacticul Brigade lining up shots on the flank. Tankbustas jumping out of trukks on the right looking to target a battlewagon. Flash gits in the left aiming to remove a line of scouting grots. Meganobz positioning in a ruin in the centre for a charge.

Ghaz and a few remaining Boyz after braving overwatch remove the flash gits, leaving just their trukk and big mek.

Big mob of Boyz charges across the central objective into a mess of tankbustas, who are in melee with Ghaz, supported by two trukks. At the bottom of the pic grots and a big mek swarm a lone warboss, who killed the other tank bustas on the counter offensive.

Still running the Green Tide, this time into Tac brigade Orks! Thanks to my invulnerable saves and some key charges going my way, my Boyz came out on top. #warhammer #nerdlings #Orks

I think they are fine for ‘on in the background’ stuff, I find it difficult to focus fully on. Generally I find one shots and short campaigns easier to follow while painting etc.
