I finally got to see this movie yesterday and thought it was excellent.

03.10.2025 19:22 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Seriously this man is going through it for the entire series and it is a delight to watch.
29.09.2025 20:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The people who loved you still love you even after they are gone. Their influence and the love they left behind persist.
29.09.2025 20:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Photo of Satoh Takeru, a Japanese man, standing among the empty seats of a darkened theater and smirking proudly.
Thereโs a sequence right at the end of episode 6 that might have changed my brain chemistry a little. Just COOL.
29.09.2025 20:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The actors playing the two main antagonists are also very good at what they do. The actress playing Reina in particular really kills it. The way her expressions shift dramatically in the moments where she lets the mask drop are legitimately chilling.
29.09.2025 20:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0No detail is wasted. Iโve been rewatching and catching all kinds of little details that tie into / set up later elements. Itโs a show that rewards you for paying attention.
For just one example: if youโre wondering where the orange came from in the first episode? You should.
Grapes as a metaphor for love.
Very expensive grapes.
Every time the characters are snacking on grapes at the vineyard in the third episode, those are like $100 bunches of grapes.
Satoh Takeru in waistcoats and glasses.
Satoh Takeru in an apron.
Satoh Takeru covered in blood.
(The wardrobe in this one is hit or miss, but when they hit, damn do they hit.)
Misa gets to form real, supportive female friendships to replace her toxic relationship with Reina. Her bonds with Yuriko (her immediate work superior) and Miku (her junior) are an important part of the story and offset the negative dynamics between her and Reina and her mother-in-law.
29.09.2025 20:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Both leads regularly talk to a turtle like it is a person.
29.09.2025 20:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Screencap of Koshiba Fuka, a Japanese woman, wearing an expression of intense relief and emotion: โThatโs great.โ She is teary but smiling.
Screencap of a man holding an umbrella over a woman, facing her without touching. Her head is bowed and her arms wrapped around herself.
Both of the leads are great, actually, and they have a lot of chemistry. Koshiba Fuka as Misa is allowed to make faces that arenโt elegant or pretty but convey a lot of raw emotion. Which is nice. You donโt always get that.
29.09.2025 20:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Satoh Takeru as the male lead has an amazing command of subtle facial acting. The character is very restrained, and heโs great at conveying that restraint, and that thereโs a lot going on in his head underneath it.
I also like his voice a lot.

Photo of a womanโs hand using a utensil to cut into a pink and white nerikiri confection.
So many loving, lingering shots of food. So much wagashi!
29.09.2025 20:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Reasons to go watch Marry My Husband JP:
The heroine, Misa, is very believable as someone who has low self esteem and anxiety and is trying to make better choices for herself. She catastrophizes and assumes the worst; sheโs giddy when she manages to stand up for herself for the first time. Adorable
I watched Marry My Husband: Japan recently and yโall, itโs been a while since a show has given me the brain rot this bad.
Itโs *so good.* The South Korean live action was fun, too, but itโs more about the spectacle and revenge fantasy. The Japanese version is much more grounded and emotional.
Ohhh. Gotcha!

20.05.2025 02:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Iโm so normal about this. Iโve never been more normal about something before. When you look up the word normal in the dictionary a picture of me looking at this is there. I should teach classes about being normal because of how normal I am about this.
15.05.2025 01:25 โ ๐ 27 ๐ 7 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You gotta figure most clothing in Eorzea is already being custom made, though. Itโs just a question of whether you have the time and skill to do it yourself or pay someone else. So itโs probably less an issue than it would be if sewing machines and mass production were a thing.
16.05.2025 12:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0PSA: โOh, me too!" is one of the most basic-ass ways to connect with someone you don't know. This includes stuff about fandom OCs.
If you can't deal with it, put it in a pinned post so people know you are the MOST uncomfortable when we are not about you.
Eep?
29.04.2025 01:12 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Rancid take I saw, apparently the Highlander ladies have 'masc' animations. The bouncy cheerleader ladies with the dramatic footstomps and blushes. What's so masc about them? What, not dainty enough for ye, is it? What a misogynistic and gender essentialist take. Femininity isn't so limited. #FF14
