View of Thomas Conroy’s residence in Callao, as it stood in 2012. Photograph kindly provided by Juan Manuel Dávila Herrera, founder of the blog “Callao Centro Histórico”
Fragment of an early 20th-century postcard from Callao, showing the building at the end of the street. Source: [http://www.callaocentrohistorico.com/2012/06/]
This building was once the grand office & home of Conroy, who helped shape Peru’s trade networks. Built in 1855, it stood at the heart of Callao’s port life, though now a fading monument to a global past.
