I think it's nothing short of a miracle a .mid version of this soundtrack is available. Since they're so accurate and there's no embedded sequencer metadata, I assume they are official composer exports. The files were made available 15 years ago, but how the uploader got his hands on them eludes me.

It's DPCM time. Let's do this!

I/O Echo update: 14/21 frames complete, hardest parts are done.

The last 7 remaining frames are just the final ones where the chorus repeats with slight melody and instrument changes + fade out.

After that, I'll revise instruments and effects, do all the DPCM, and it should be finished this week.

good AND bad thing about working on a cover: I have to listen to the same song, both the original and my rendition wip, ad nauseam. by the time the piece is done I no longer want to listen to it 😵‍💫

The longer I listen to I/O Echo, the more I wonder if it's really doable, particularly in the later frames...did I overestimate myself again? Perhaps. I don't know how I can emulate the richness of the tune with my 2A03 abilities, but there's still the DPCM channel to work with. One step at a time.

"Frontier Fire", former OP5 (later moved to Extras), was a different project I put together back in February. I first made the music, then the faux background/window/game title screen and animation using different programs; it was the first multimodal chiptune project and a fun little experiment :)

I really hope they reuse Sylux's Hunters theme in 4. It doesn't even have to be the full, identical tune, as much as I think that'd be unlikely. I just hope they at least preserve Sylux's original motif!

Running an old ambient weeklybeat of mine through the new reverb shimmer feature of the latest M8 Tracker firmware v6.2.0. It added a whole new layer to the various elements of the track including the pseudodelay. This new update is fantastic! #m8tracker #ambient #chiptune #chipsky

After readjusting my track and album organization, I have reuploaded the 2 .nes files containing my original tracks compilations. This is the closest I have to a digital album release, and I'm glad to share it! :)
