So it turns out all I had to do was change which layer the particles were set to draw to, and POOF, they instantly appeared in the game VR view!

But Unity doesn't throw an error when an object is set to a layer that isn't named. It just goes happily on its merry way, not rendering it at all!

EXCEPT IN THE SCENE VIEW, where everything appeared to be working perfectly fine!

...Unity doesn't list ALL the layers there. It only lists those which are NAMED. And in Furotic, layer 13 isn't named.

So, while all the named layers were selected and rendering, layer 13 effectively didn't exist as far as it was concerned, and so it wasn't being rendered.

To make that work, I also needed to stop it rendering the main menu in the Main Camera. So... I did the logical thing and in the Culling Mask dropdown, I deselected the Menu layer. Which automatically deselects Everything. Which is fine, because all the other layers remain selected!

Except...

I did this because the menu in Furotic needed to not be affected by Post Processing, and it needed to scale with you when you scale.

I achieved this by rendering it with a second camera set to render after the main camera, and set to render only the menu layer.

But here's the thing...

But before I explain why that is a problem, I should mention that the Scene view in Unity renders all layers all the time.

Cameras on the other hand, do not. Well, they do... Unless you tell them not to.

But Thiccwater, being designed for VRChat originally, has the particles set to draw on layer 13, which is for things you can pick up.

I don't know why it renders on that specific layer, but Furotic doesn't use layer 13. It's unlabeled.

This is a problem.

But I finally figured it out.

In Unity, each object can be set to render to a specific layer. For most objects, this is just set to Default...

Found the issue!

It wasn't the shader.

After making numerous attempts to debug it, including trying to just force it to draw everything a solid color, and making no progress at all to make anything appear in VR, I decided to just try replacing the materials on the particles with regular ones...

I'm on 2022.3.62f3 currently.

I do have a shadow-casting directional light in the scene. If I disable it, the cum disappears entirely, as expected.

I wanted to be sure the light wasn't broken as its set to mixed, and I didn't know if the scene view had a depth pass by default.

The cum shows up in the scene view just fine, but no matter what I do, I get nothing in the game view or VR.

I'm using single-pass instanced rendering, but multi-pass doesn't seem to work either.

Finally, you can now toggle on and off the clothes (top + bottom can be selectively enabled), as well as 'accessories' like the choker + goggles (also individually selectable), and 'extras' like the wings!
