Also, either Hilary Knight and Megan Keller are rounding their heights down, or else both Hughes brothers are lying about how tall they are, lol.

The Hughes brothers' agent must have been working overtime on damage control to get them on the SNL opening monologue, lol

WSJ reporting that the U.S. used Claude for the air strikes in Iran. Centcom has been using Claude "for intelligence assessments, target identification and simulating battle scenarios" www.wsj.com/livecoverage...

There's much to say about what's going on, but what strikes me the most is just how embarrassing he is. The guy who launched an illegal attack that will lead to war and the likely destabilization of much of the Middle East for no real reason is posting like a middle schooler struggling with English.

Important context re this Fash / XN / Dominionist admin:

Whatever incompetence there is in the F47 admin, it matters less than the sense of Holy War many of it's admins feel about their roles & what they're to do about t/rest of us.

They want these wars. It's about domination.

Colin Jost is not good in normal sketches except when he’s Pete Hegseth and that’s a pretty haunting thing to have as the one impression you can do in a quality way

Again, a major reason they don't is because they face absolutely no pressure to, either from the public or the media. Other choices remain readily available:

This is hardly the primary issue, but I guess Khamenei isn't going to respond to my Twitter DMs asking if he liked anime.

if they *only* wanted to perform violence for the sake of content production, someone smart could probably identify targets that would end up being arguably beneficial by our standards

creating content *and* advancing the goals of the fascist internationale might just be a win-win for them

I think someone on here pointed this out already but the worst case scenario is that POTUS starts thinks he can continue these operations (Venezuela, Iran) without incurring a cost in the form of a lot of soldiers dying

What happens if the next operation turns into Gothic Serpent II

A number of "wow we could have just blown up / kidnapped foreign leaders all along instead of those long wars!" threads on X

And some posts "military buddies confirm we could have bagged Saddam day 1 and been done but we *chose* to drag it out for contractors and NGOs and officers wanting medals"

Normally I wouldn't put an account this popular on blast because I'm not suicidal, but this is asinine theater kid criticism made out of a refusal to focus your rage on deserving targets. If you think the real problem with Trump bombing Iran is the Democrats, log off and stay logged off.

Hopefully people will come away from this chapter in American history finally understanding that the reconstructionists are a threat, though the way everything is being blamed on dispensationalists doesn't have me feeling very optimistic

01.03.2026 04:46 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

I totally forgot about Martin and PayPal.

I feel like the Reconstructionists have been able to fly under the radar because they don't fit people's stereotypes of Bible thumping fundamentalists, and they can't imagine people who play the role of polite intellectual are not so secretly theocrats.

The people who believe the apocalyptic stuff certainly seem to be behaving as if they believe it, and most of them agree that Iran has a crucial role to play

I think a lot of it is that the Reformed Baptists decided to make a concerted effort to take over the SBC since the '90s, combined with the fact that the theocrats have been quietly doing their jobs in government while understanding not to say their full beliefs in public as their influence grew.

It's frustrating how everyone keeps talking about Mike Huckabee and not about how Hegseth is a Doug Wilsonite

01.03.2026 03:50 — 👍 4    🔁 1    💬 1    📌 0

No, they absolutely believe it

01.03.2026 03:34 — 👍 1    🔁 1    💬 0    📌 0

But hey, what do I know, it's not like I didn't spend my undergrad years listening to would be theocrats talk about the idea of a Christian Iran as a model or anything, when they weren't defending Calvin's Geneva and Zwingli's Zurich beheading heretics or burning them at the stake.

01.03.2026 03:33 — 👍 19    🔁 2    💬 0    📌 0

Somebody like Hegseth is more likely to see their role in terms of biblically justified holy war against infidels and heretics, and not as setting the stage for Armageddon. Their beef with Iran is primarily a theological one, and they'd very much like to implement an Iran-style Christian theocracy.

01.03.2026 03:30 — 👍 33    🔁 5    💬 2    📌 1

If we're going to be talking about the end times theology of various US government officials, it's worth mentioning that in addition to the Left Behind-style apocalyptic theology, people like Hegseth likely see their job as ushering in the Kingdom of God on earth, no apocalypses needed.
