No I don't think a stage with no DP regen and enemies that steal DP is fun. S-3 and S-4 were interesting challenges that required understanding of event mechanics. S-2 is ripped from chapter 12 but with more unreasonable enemies, where you always sit on 0 DP and pray to a god that doesn't exist.

I think that in retrospect I will really like this event because the mechanics are quite fun to play and the story (which I would've read more of if I didn't have to play this shit for 3 hours) is pretty good as well, but right now I am just exhausted and mad at how unreasonable the S stages are.

I don't think it's even exaggeration to say that this may be the single worst stage in the game. Maybe some of the main story H stages that I haven't played are worse, but I don't think there's an event stage more obnoxious than this.

I agree with all of this minus the number which doesn't matter anyways, like yeah I didn't laugh out loud sometimes, in fact it was rare for a gag to truly hit and be more than a light chuckle, but equally sometimes you have to sit back and watch the best in the business turn in generational work

Oguri's more like the overarching threat in someone else's story, which is kinda cool to be fair, but in that case they should have made her a bit more Evil and Hot and a bit less blorbo.

I said this last cour as well but I feel like I shouldn't be cheering for the show's main character to eat shit. I feel like maybe that signals that something went a bit off track at some point.

I think I said this with the Super Creek episode too, but Umamusu is pretty good at shorter-form flashes of great character writing, it's why the Super Creek episode worked, it's why Tama is an engaging character, and it's why focusing an entire show on the hunger demon doesn't work.

Good episode of Cingray, though it does kinda still highlight the broader problem with the show, that being that it gets better the less relevant Oguri is to whatever the episodic plot is.

yeah you can I'm just saying Cingray isn't that, and if I have to pick between one or the other I will take the former any day unless you're BoaNE where the visual game is so strong that nothing else matters, but Cingray's isn't so good that I can overlook the problems

I mean, I cannot actually elaborate on it because it's largely vibes, all I know is that I cared far more watching Nice Nature race once than I have watching Oguri race ever, though that may be less a presentational thing and more down to Oguri being a non-character.

S-3 is mostly just tanking big damage which isn't that bad when you have An Defender but S-2 asks me to play without any natural DP gen and the map begins with the guy that one-shots almost everyone and I CANNOT DO IT
