I’m beginning to think I have conflated a few things. The line from Independence Day when the President’s daughter says to the First Lady on the phone ‘Dad let me stay up and watch Letterman’ and then he looks down at her and says ‘traitor’ + a doggy scene from, say, Lethal Weapon 2 = false memory.

Just want to let you know that I also have seen this thing (almost certainly multiple times) and now it’s driving me fucking bananas.

Heads-up for fellow comics art fans, the reprint of the extremely rare DC style guide, full of gorgeous JLGC and Giordano art, came out without much fanfare recently and it feels like one of those books that, once it’s out of print, will be a nightmare to find.

Well, one of the nice things about that Sumi one is that you don’t need to cut it with water, so it tends to be very black. I’ve heard good things about Speedball stuff too, but haven’t tried it yet.

Not tried that one, but there is a black label version of the Kuretake stuff that gives a really good, even, pitch black effect that’s good for solid black areas. It also dries very quickly. I would sometimes switch between them, but eventually found myself really only using the white label one.

Oof, that’s steep. I used to get packs of three for a decent price, I think. It’s a fair size bottle though.

Have you tried this stuff? I’ve found it handles very well.

The colour version of that Battle Action cover I posted the inks for earlier. I did full art duties on the Death Game story in this issue - first time in a while I've done my own colours for interior art. Think it's due out by the end of the year.

The fact that you’re impressed by your own work isn’t necessarily a sign that you’ve gotten worse. You did just win an Eisner. It could be that it’s long enough since you wrote it that you can see the quality in it objectively, without looking for flaws in the author.
