Highly efficient LED device built by stacking layers of light-emitting perovskite ‘Tandem’ light-emitting diode seems to benefit from the ‘recycling’ of photons between layers.

Stacking light-generating layers in ‘tandem’ LEDs can enhance performance, but achieving efficient and stable tandem LEDs made with perovskite materials has remained a challenge. Now a paper in Nature may offer a solution.
