Early morning thoughts: I appreciate the critique of Christian Dominionism and why the U.S. military ought not be used as a part of Revelation and Armageddon, but I also think this might be a sign that we need separation of church and state. Maybe it's just me, but that sounds like a good idea.

I've gotten some pushback on this, since apparently it's unfair to Russians to point out the Kremlin's hypocrisy in using the term специальная военная операци. And if we're guilty of calling the Korean War a "police action" then we need to stop doing that, too.

Mid-afternoon thoughts: you sound Russian if you insist that the war with Iran isn't a war. So what is it? A "special military operation"? Russia has been involved in one of these for 4 years, with over a million casualties. We call these things "wars" - get over it and stop sounding Russian.

Late night thoughts: Russia invaded Ukraine four years ago, and the U.S. did nothing meaningful because we expected Ukraine to collapse. Eight years before that, Russia took Crimea, and the U.S. did nothing meaningful. We're still doing nothing meaningful. Why should NATO trust the U.S.?

Ukraine gave up its Soviet-era nuclear stockpile in return for security guarantees by the US, UK, and Russia, in the Budapest Memorandum signed in 1994. These guarantees were never honored, and Russia invaded Crimea in 2014, and the rest of Ukraine in 2022. Is it any wonder that this is happening?
