Netty finds Yoshi sitting alone, staring off into the distance. He walks up to him, trying to talk. Netty: Yoshi? Are you alright? I've been looking around for you all morning. You wanna open up to me about something, pal? Yoshi turns around to his friend. Yoshi: Huh? Oh, hey Netty. I've been lamenting for a while. It's a little complicated for me to express myself right now... Netty sits down next to his friend, trying to convince him to open up. Netty: C'mon, let's talk. Whatever it is that's got you down, I can try to understand. It's what friends are for after all. It's about that kid isn't it? Yoshi gains confidence to open up to Netty. Yoshi: (sigh) ...Yeah, I suppose so. The past few days were beginning to mean a lot to me ever since Mario landed on my back. He's loud and smelly at times, sure, but we were just like him once. Mum thought the same, having to raise a picky eater like me. To be honest with you, I never thought I'd be so attached to that kid. This little adventure with him got us through our toughest times, facing our fears, and defeating all those baddies. Because of all that, Mario taught me something: Responsibility. Netty tears up as Yoshi progresses. Yoshi (cont): Getting the kid home to his real parents was the right thing to do, now it's all over. It was fun while it lasted, being a temporary guardian to someone. It's prepared me for when I become one for myself. I genuinely think I'd be a good father one day. Us working together to reunite him with his brother was the most fun I've ever had. But... Mario... he's just a baby. He won't remember any of this. He p-probably won't even remember me... or you... or any of our... f-friends... Yoshi's tears stream down his face. Yoshi (cont): ...but then... h-he... He said my name... His f-first word... OH MARIOOO!! I WISH WE COULD'VE K-KEPT HIM AROUND A LITTLE LONGER AND RAISE HIM AS *sniffle* OUR OWN!! Netty comforts him. Netty: I MISS HIM TOO, PAL! Yoshi: I LOVE YOU, MARIOOO!!

At least Yoshi will have a great story to tell. 📖
