Did a story with SBS Dateline on Taiwan’s dementia care village. We filmed primarily with elderly people, and I had to switch between English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. It was one of the toughest shoots I’ve been onβ€”but also one of the most rewarding.

'Real men are here': The posts luring Chinese men to join Putin's army In the world of Chinese social media, you don't have to look far to find them β€” posts encouraging people to join the Russian army are being circulated on accounts with tens of thousands of followers.

I did research on social media platforms in China for this story.

A good full day on Douyin (the Chinese TikTok) and XHS (RedNote) watching pro-Russian videos and military recruitment ads. 🫠

Taiwan’s Youth Are Not Defeatist β€” and The Data Proves It A wide body of academic surveys with nationally representative samples shows Taiwanese people’s willingness to fight to defend their homeland, including those under 30.

Yes to this because the world will be a better place if we stop quoting polls done by online forums or random cab drivers.

I’m seeing a handful of Taiwanese people suggesting that the ruling DPP should "MAYBE" declare martial law as well, citing recent controversial bills proposed by the opposition parties. This is shocking, given Taiwan endured 38 years of martial law before achieving democracy.

China’s queer influencers thrive despite growing LGBTQ+ censorship Chinese LGBTQ content creators have learned to navigate murky social media censorship and form queer communities online.

I did a story with LA Times' Stephanie Yang. It's about China's queer influencers who are combating internet censorship using coded language. Really really enjoyed working on this piece and we got to interview some interesting people like...
